Cherry Blossom Mini Session!!!

As many of you know, Cherry Blossom Day, started very early for me.  I had a 6:30 Sunrise engagement shoot with the lovely Ryan and Amanda (see their link here.)  We finished their shoot at about 8, so I had a little bit of time to just relax and take in beauty of fairmont park first thing in the morning, the park was so serene and relaxing. Just before my sessions started at 9:30, the park began to come to life with workers getting ready for the Cherry Blossom Festival the very next day.

I am SO thrilled with the turn out of my first Cherry Blossom Mini Session day.  I was busy the entire day, and got to meet such wonderful and beautiful families!!  It is perfect days like this mini session day that make me so grateful to be able to do what I love.

I hope you enjoy the images from mini session day, I (as always) had a really hard time narrowing down the photographs I wanted to show.

I used to work with this sweet little man's mom, Jess.  He was such a pleasure to work with!  So relaxed and laid back, just taking it all in!

Mom said that he was perfecting the "brooding 15 year old look", and he pulls it off so well lol!

The smirk!!  Gets me every time I look at this picture!

The two little girls in the pictures below had us MOVING the entire time!!  Phew, after their session, me and Heather feeling like we just ran a 5K.  These two little ladies were too busy to be bothered with posing, but my god they are cute!

a meeting of the minds lol

Sorry, I just couldn't help myself.. I ADORE crying kids!

Little lady doesn't like to wear anything on her head, but these were birthday pictures so we tried, and she ran, haha.

Every time I look at a picture of this little man... all I think is "heeeeyyy ladies" What a little stud!!!  I pointed my camera at him, and every time he froze and gave me a killer smile.

Little lady is the same age as my daughter, and just as busy.  She could not be bothered with standing still, she was too busy running and looking for the little mermaid in the water fountain :)

I have no idea what is going on in this, or why little man is biting his shoe, but I kinda love it. Kids are so silly :)

Such a good big brother :)

This little lady was giving us a run for our money.  She came with an entire entourage, and refused to smile for any of us.  Its ok though, she is over the moon adorable :)

ahh, whats that?  A smirk?!?

SO big!

 What a beautiful family <3 p="">

Ok, this little lady was born to be in front of the camera.  This was my first time meeting her, and she was all smiles.  It takes most kids a few minutes to warm up, but not her!

 How cute is this family!?!

A BIG thank you to all of the beautiful families that came out for mini session day!  It was truly my pleasure meeting you all!!

The Monday Blues

Mondays get a lot of crap.  Many people just hate them, it is the return to the work week for many, and for me it is Dereck going back to work and leaving me alone, outnumbered by the little people.  While many of us would love to cry and scream when mondays roll around, as adults, that is just not acceptable.  For kids, it is an entirely different story.

Maybe I am alone here, but I LOVE pictures of kids crying.  Kids hold nothing back, when they are happy they squeal it at the top of their lungs. and when they are mad.. EVERYONE knows it.  Kids truly wear their hearts on their sleeves. I am not sure when we lose that going into adulthood, and  perhaps that is why I am so drawn towards the raw, uninhibited display of emotion.  It is real, and it is wonderful.

You will see quite a few images of my own little lady, she is very passionate, when she is happy she is over the moon.. when she is mad.. well, you will see :)

Happy monday everyone :)

Ryan and Amanda

This session is VERY close to my heart.  Ryan is my "little" brother.  We have always been very close, and I have always  been VERY protective of him.  There was not any girl good enough for him in my eyes... until he met Amanda.
I was in Canada when Ryan and Amanda started dating.  After just a few weeks of dating Ryan said to me "this is the one, I know this is the one."  I made him promise to at least wait until I met her before he planned a wedding, and he did.  I immediately liked her.  She is one of the most genuine and outgoing people that I have ever met.  Her smile is infectious, and she has one of the kindest hearts that I know.  I could go on and on about how much I adore her, and how these two are not only family, but some of our best friends, but I have to save some material for my maid of honor speech!!!
I hope you enjoy Ryan and Amanda's engagement session as much as I enjoyed taking it.  It was a sunrise session at fairmont park, and the cherry blossoms were just the pick me up we all needed at 6:30 am. :)

Isn't she insanely beautiful!?
